According to Wikipedia, an MP3 player is a "electronic device that can play digital audio files. It is a type of Portable Media Player" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3_player, 8:27 PM, 1/5/17). Though, most people today use an IPod, a portable device by Apple Inc., which is also an MP3. So, the question more, or less now is, why are iPods, so much more popular then devices like the Walkman by Sony, and the GoGear by Phillips. Well, off the bat we can tell for sure its not cost effectiveness, because the average MP3 player costs less then an iPod. The storage is roughly the same, so we can scratch that off. Wait, what about commercialization! Bingo. IPods are more commercialized then the average MP3. Its also more popular on T.V., movies, and ect. Other MP3s exist, but only you as the consumer can change. If you like the ITunes store, the Walkman has its Sony store, and you can always buy a CD, and upload the music via that. So, don't let commercialization fool you, you as the consumer have the right to choose between products, so lets hear for a better tomorrow; and please know that we are not bashing on Apple Inc., sometimes they have the better buy, we are just informing you!
